IN STORE: Alora Young, author of Walking Gentry Home

Parnassus Books is pleased to welcome Alora Young, author of the YA poetry collection, Walking Gentry Home: A Memoir of My Foremothers in Verse. Alora will be introduced with an original poem by Nashville Youth Poet Laureate, Sheerea Yu.

This is a free event which will take place IN STORE on Tuesday, August 2nd at 6:30pm Central Time. Because space will be limited, registration is required to attend this event. Masks are strongly encouraged for all attendees during this event. 

About Alora Young

Alora Young is a college student, an actor, and the Youth Poet Laureate of the Southern United States. Her poetry has appeared in The New York Times and The Washington Post, and she has performed her poetry on CNN, CBS, and the TEDx stage. Originally from Tennessee, Young currently attends Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.
About Sheerea Yu

Sheerea Yu is a senior at University School of Nashville. Outside of being a poet, she is a violinist, fencer, and journalist. She believes that poetry is about preserving an honest idea—the unapologetic exploration of your truest thoughts. Sheerea loves rainy days, library lamps, and fruit of all kinds.
