Parnassus Books is thrilled to welcome Mark Deutschmann author of One-Mile Radius.
In his new book, One-Mile Radius – Building Community from the Core, Mark Deutschmann shares how he built his successful real estate business while revitalizing Nashville’s core neighborhoods and supporting local nonprofits.
In One-Mile Radius, Deutschmann tells how he engaged in his community to build a real estate business and use it as a tool for social change while reviving neighborhoods that are some of Nashville’s most vibrant today, including Hillsboro Village, Germantown and 12South. He also weaves in stories about night walks, juggling in Nicaragua and tornadoes and floods that destroyed neighborhoods but ignited stronger community spirit and smarter rebuilding.
One-Mile Radius offers insight into entrepreneurship, civic servitude, community organizing and shaping a community that reverberates outward to benefit everyone.
All proceeds from the book go to the Village Fund, a nonprofit foundation and charitable arm of Village Real Estate Services that provides grants to organizations helping enrich and strength our neighborhoods.
Mark Deutschmann has worked with neighbors, city leaders and nonprofits for 30 years to grow Nashville, Tenn. into a dynamic city. He is the founder of Village Real Estate Services and Core Development Services, the president of Greenways for Nashville and the chair of Urban Land Institute Nashville. An accomplished juggler, Mark holds degrees in zoology and Spanish and an MBA in international management.
