Parnassus Books is pleased to welcome Brandon Rich, author of Lawfully Wedded Life!
Lawfully Wedded Life is like no other book about weddings on the shelf today. Rev. Brandon Rich tells his personal story about growing up in the South, going to seminary, serving as a Baptist pastor and then how his life took a turn that he never anticipated. When his plans to spend his life in the ministry went awry, he made a new life for himself in a completely different industry, but one that sprang from his previous life and work as an ordained minister. He took to his new work and became an expert at all things weddings and hilarity ensued. This book is a collection of stories that will entertain like no other. Lawfully Wedded Life contains stories that will elicit a range of emotions in the reader from joy and delight to frustration and sadness all the way to rolling on the floor laughing! Rev. Rich used his skills as a storytelling preacher to turn his work in weddings into a delight for the reader.
Rev. Brandon Rich has been an institution in the Nashville wedding industry since 2007, but his roots in weddings go back to the early 1980s. Rev. Rich played organ and piano for weddings and assisted his mother who was a wedding coordinator in Kentucky. Rev. Rich was born in Chattanooga, raised in Bowling Green, KY and then went to high school in Brentwood. He graduated from Belmont University here in Nashville with a degree in Political Science and History. He then studied theology in Texas where he also served as a pastor. After returning to Tennessee, Rev. Rich has been a wedding officiant, wedding coordinator and event venue operator providing service to well over four thousand weddings, elopements and events. Rev. Rich lives in Nashville, Tennessee near his family where he continues to collect stories for future books with every new wedding. When he is not at a wedding or working on his next book, Rev. Rich loves time with a good book on the California coast, the beaches of the Florida panhandle, the theme parks of Orlando and finally, binge watching The Golden Girls.
