The life of an active, creative woman is dramatically changed by a major hemorrhagic stroke during a community bus trip through the western Pennsylvania Highlands. Her foray into the wilderness of brain trauma, her sudden powerlessness, and her fight against the odds of recovery are an inspiration to stroke survivors, their caretakers, and anyone who has struggled with physical trauma. Stroke Story traces her transformational journey from landscape gardener, flower farmer, and garden writer into helplessness. Her hard work, determination and expert care bring the hope of renewal.
