Choro Nashville is a six member acoustic music group, dedicated to the century-old Brasilian music known as Choro or Chorinho: virtuoso instrumental music from Brazil, played on unusual stringed instruments, woodwinds and percussion.
"Choro" or "chorinho" originated in Brazil in the late 19th century, and lives on today as a musical style that influences much of Brazil's best known music. It's often compared to American ragtime music, with a mixture of improvisation and composition pl
ayed to an energetic
and syncopated rhythm.
Choro has been called "classical music played with bare feet, calloused hands and beer."
CHORO NASHVILLE features RANDY LEAGO on woodwinds and cavaquinho, CHRIS MORAN on guitar and bandolim, LARRY SEEMAN on 7-string guitar and cavaquinho, TEREE MCCORMICK and CARLOS RUIZ on percussion and JONAH KRAUT on guitar.
